The U.S. Dietary Guidelines recommend at least 3 servings of whole grains a day. This is equivalent to 48 grams of whole grains per day. The Grain

A grain is considered whole when it includes all three parts of the grain; the nutrient-dense germ, the fiber-rich bran, and the starchy endosperm. Be careful when seeing labels that claim to be "high fiber," "multi grain," or "100% wheat," as these are not necessarily whole grains.
